Greetings from School of Computing and Information Technology (SCIT)

It is my pleasure to welcome you to School of Computing and Information Technology (SCIT). Indeed, you are here because you belong here. The School of Computing and Information Technology began with Bachelor’s programme in Four (4) departments, i.e Computer Science, Cyber Security, Library and Information Technology, Software Engineering. The need of expert and knowledgeable resource persons from the field of Computing and Information Technology is growing up astronomically in every domain of arts, science and technology etc.

School of Computing is dedicated to impart knowledge in various specialties especially in computer science, cybersecurity, library and information technology, software engineering as well as data science and analytics along with holistic and multidisciplinary learning. SCIT would like to nurture new generation of professional with sound knowledge of core and contemporary concepts of Computing and Information Technology, who are capable to make impact in the society. Our learning activities are diversified, including classroom teaching, skilled-based learning, research and consultancy services.

The school is poised to works closely with industry and actively seek the involvement of industry leaders in development of course contents, collaboration and assessment for our students and preparing to retrain /up-skill training to the organization. The curriculum is well balanced with reasonable percentage of core courses and remaining for ability level & skill enhancement from the chosen field of study.

SCIT team is a blend of experience and young enthusiastic, learned and committed professional across Nigeria. Most of the staff are globally certified in the area of computing, cybersecurity, information technology, data science etc. They are also aspect of research oriented in Artificial Intelligence, Soft Computing and Machine Learning (SCML), Cyber Security, Privacy Engineering, IoT, etc. The suitable infrastructure to suit our learning environment is available in FUTIA which help our students to maximize learning opportunity in their chosen specialisation along with holistic or multidisciplinary courses.

Generally, we place a strong emphasis on industry links to ensure our programmes remain agile and relevant. In a fast-paced and rapidly changing-world of technology, you can rest assured that your degree from FUTIA is future-proof.
